PPPoE subscribers
Set up a PPPoE server on the router, then manage PPPoE profiles and subscriber accounts from your portal.
PPPoE is for home and office subscribers who connect with a username and password, usually from their own router.
Set up the PPPoE server on the router
The platform manages PPPoE profiles and accounts, not the server itself. If the router does not run one yet, in Winbox:
- Open PPP › PPPoE Servers and add a server.
- Choose the interface your subscribers connect to, and give the service a name.
- Leave its default profile as it is: each account gets its own profile from your portal.
PPPoE profiles
In your portal open the router, then PPPoE profiles. A profile holds:
- the gateway address: the router's address on the subscribers' side,
- the customer address pool: ranges or single addresses, which must not overlap another profile's pool,
- upload and download speed, in Mbps,
- one session per user: a second device with the same login is refused.
The platform creates the profile and its address pool on the router with names starting saas-.
PPPoE users
Under PPPoE users, add an account for each subscriber: username, password and profile. You can give an account a fixed address (outside every pool), and disable one, for example while a subscriber has not paid. Online now shows who is connected.
